As a *sort of* restaurant it makes sense that you might have some questions…

Let us try and answer them!

How does this work? Where do I order?

We offer two kinds of service- window and table.

During the day on Saturdays (1-5) and on Sundays (1-6) we take orders at our window. Come on up and place your order and we will bring your meal to your table!

During Dinner service (5:30-8:30) Thursday-Saturday we level up our hospitality and take your order table side. If you wait by the Airstream, our team will get you seated. You can peak inside and watch us cooking away, but please do not try and place an order with one of our cooks.

Do you take reservations?

We take a limited number of reservations for dinner only. We do it the old fashioned way, via email, rather than through a reservation platform.

We only accept reservations up to two weeks in advance.

If you would like to make a dinner reservation please email hello@westerlycanteen.com with your party size and desired date and time and we will get back to you. While this means you have to wait for a response, it allows us to manage the flow of our small operation which hopefully results in the best experience for you and our other guests.

Due to our small size, we only hold tables up to 15 minutes after your reservation time.

We always reserve 50% of our dining patio for walk ins, so if you don’t have a reservation, or we cannot accommodate your reservation on your desired night, please don’t feel deterred to come in!

What happens if it rains or is cold?

We certainly cannot control the weather. And this summer has been wet! We are lucky enough to be partnered with Tenmile Distillery, where there is a beautiful and large dining space indoors for you to enjoy should the weather turn on us. We have most recently brought extra tables inside to enhance your fall dining experience. We have very effective space heaters both indoors and outdoors to keep you cozy at whichever table you dine.

In extreme circumstances, we also have the option to move our full service inside to the distillery kitchen. This means we are fully open rain or shine, summer and fall!

When are you open until/ How long is your season?

We plan to stay open through November at least. When the weather begins to turn, our hours may adjust slightly. We have heat lamps and an indoor dining space to enjoy when it gets cold. To stay informed on any updates to our schedule, or for announcements that could extend our season to the end of the year, sign up for our newsletter!

Can I bring my dog?

We are major animal people and as an outdoor dining option, we do have the good fortune to allow dogs. However, all dogs must be kept on leash. Dogs are not allowed inside the distillery. If your dog does not behave well in public, is aggressive to other dogs or people, we kindly ask that you opt to leave your dog at home.

What kind of food do you serve?

This question is always hard to answer succinctly. We change our menus weekly and cook with the produce and meat that is available to us from the farms we trust to work with. We have items that serve as snacks to enjoy while imbibing at the distillery, vegetable driven / aperitivo style dishes that can be a salad, a starter, or make up a whole shareable meal. We always have 3-4 larger dishes, some may call them entrees that feature meats from the area, fish from Montauk or Gloucester, or hand made pastas. There is an undeniable west coast influence, hence our name, and while the language falls short, it is earnest farm to table cooking. The best thing to do is come and try for yourself! We do our best to post our weekly menus here on this site.
